Previously, there was a lot of partying and the girls split up into two groups and Bret either bonded or made out with all of the women. Rodeo is in love and cries a lot while Lacey and Dallas fought over animals and just about everything. More girls were eliminated and Lacey vows to pick off the rest one by one.
We start out this week with lots of dancing and drinking and partying. Brandi C. is depressed that her BFF Kristia was eliminated and decides to get plastered. Rodeo starts crying because she misses her son and Lacey goes to get Bret because she thinks it’s to her advantage that Rodeo has a breakdown and leaves. Bret comforts Rodeo and they bond some more.
Brandi C. is plastered and tries to get into Bret’s room. Big John stops that, though, and tells her to go away. She whines a lot more and Big John just isn’t having it. The next morning, Bret’s on stage and playing the harmonica which gets the girls’ attention and they come inside. Today’s challenge is to write lyrics for two songs Bret wrote with the theme “Love Is”. Bret starts breaking the girls up into pairs for the challenge. He calls out Heather and Magdalena, Brandi M. and Jes, Lacey and Erin, Sam and Brandi C., Rodeo and Mia. Rodeo is thrilled because she sings at weddings and does karaoke. Lacey thinks she’ll win because she’s a musician, but Erin has no musical talent at all.
Rodeo and Mia go out back and Rodeo starts writing lyrics about their kids playing under rainbows and then starts laughing and dancing so much. Mia is taken aback and doesn’t want to use those lyrics. Meanwhile, Erin is terrified, but Lacey assures her that they will win because it’s what she does and she’s been writing lyrics since she was 5.
Sam says they already have lyrics because she writes in a journal. Brandi C. is happy she doesn’t have to do any work. Mia is still trying to convince Rodeo not to sing about the kids, but she’s dead set on leaving in that lyric. Magdalena is busy writing lyrics and hoping Heather doesn’t mess it up because she’s not musically talented. Heather, though, says Magdalena’s lyrics don’t make sense.
Jes and Brandi M. both know they suck at music and all they can do is smoke and drink cigarettes. They decide to just rock it out and not worry about being musically inclined. Rodeo is still talking about rainbows and kids and Mia is making her take out some of those lyrics. Lacey is about ready to kill Erin because she can’t carry a rhythm on the tambourine. Lacey is still positive she can win because she’s a musician. Sam is trying to teach Brandi C. how to sing because she’s tone deaf.
At the performances, Bret introduces a special guest judge who happens to be a radio personality named Richard Blade and the other judge is Big John. Erin and Lacey go first. Erin stares at her tambourine and concentrates as Lacey sings and plays the guitar. There should have been crickets after that performance. Heather and Magdalena are up next and Bret talks about how Magdalena singing is like watching a drag queen. They get big applause and Richard tells them the singing wasn’t great but they had good lyrics.
Jes and Brandi M. get up and pretend to play guitars and rock out. Sam thinks they are adorable and loved that they had such a good time. Bret laughs and claps. He says they owned the stage with their energy. Rodeo and Mia get up on the stage and sing the song and there is a lyric about kids that Bret catches. He doesn’t think they fit the song very well. He asks Rodeo why they picked the rock song instead of the ballad, and she starts talking about kids again and crying. The word “kids” is every other word out of her mouth. Sam and Brandi C. are the last group and Brandi is confident because she’s cute enough to pull it off. The lyrics are very telling and Bret picks up that Sam has trust issues from their song.
The judges confer and give each group some criticism and thoughts about the performances. Rodeo talks about kids again, and Bret tells Richard about Rodeo’s breakdown, but he still tells her not to put the kids in a song. Bret tells the girls they decided to declare it a tie and two groups will get dates with him. The winners were Magdalena and Heather and Sam and Brandi C. Heather says it’s a copout that it’s a tie. Brandi C. also thinks it sucks. Jes is mad she’s left without a date once again.
Later that night, Rodeo is crying yet again since she didn’t win and is afraid that Bret thinks she is using her child to win. She starts rambling about rock and country and wearing her hat is why kids love her. Brandi C. thinks Rodeo is an attention whore and needs to get her emotions in check because she misses her cat, but she’s not a basketcase.
Bret comes by and picks up Heather and Magdalena for their date. In the limo, Bret tells them they sang the best. The tell Bret about Rodeo’s breakdown and Bret admits that he doesn’t know how long she can stay in the house. They end up at the Geisha House, and Bret asks if this is how a real date should go since he really never did the traditional dating thing. Heather says she didn’t really date and Magdalena brings up her stripping. Heather tells Bret she’s only got about 6 months left of stripping before she moves on and she was just trying to pay off her college bills. Bret feels more connected to her after hearing that and he says he has a place in his heart for dancers.
They finish eating and Bret decides he doesn’t want to stop partying yet. He gives each of them an electric guitar for winning the challenge. Heather volunteers to get Bret’s named tattooed on her neck. This makes Bret think he could be the one, but he decides they should wait until a solo date for that tattoo. Instead, they all get into the limo and start boozing it up and making out. They go back to the house and everyone else gets in on the party as Heather takes off her shirt. Sam storms off as Heather starts smashing instruments. Bret takes Heather, Lacey, and Brandi C. to his room.
The next morning, Brandi C. gets up and is excited for her date. Bret gets up and admits that he feels awful and maybe he partied a little too hard the night before. At breakfast he tells the girls he needs to not drink anything clear like gin or anything in a beer container and he needs a day off of partying. Brandi M. is mad that they went to his room and calls out Lacey and she refuses to give details. She loves that the rumors are flying. Sam’s trust issues come up again and she decides she needs to talk to Bret about it and maybe even leave.
Big John brings the girls their note from Bret. It tells Sam and Brandi C. to get dressed to ride horses, which makes Rodeo cry again because that was her dream date. They get to the ranch and ride some horses. Brandi’s entire vocabulary consists of “Oh my God” and giggling. This makes Bret realize how young Brandi really is. They get done riding and go to eat a picnic. He gives them each an acoustic guitar for winning. Brandi proves how horrible she is with music once again.
Sam takes Bret aside to talk about her trust issues. Brandi isn’t bothered by it because she knows that Sam has issues. Sam tells Bret her dad cheated on her mom and she’s not there for a party, but she’s there for a relationship. Bret assures her they are similar and he really really likes her a lot and wants her to stay. Sam decides to stay after their conversation.
At elimination, Bret tells them he’s going to do things a bit differently. He starts off by calling Rodeo down and telling her she needs to go home to be with her son. This makes Bret cry as he walks her out of the house. He gives her his cowboy hat and says she meant a lot to him, but being there was tearing her apart. Rodeo doesn’t cry until she gets out of the house and says she didn’t want to go. Bret wipes away a tear and starts handing out passes. Mia, Jes, Erin, Brandi M., Magdalena, and Sam all get passes. The three who went to Bret’s room the night before are the only ones left and this confuses Heather since they’ve all had such a good time. Lacey gets a pass and the last pass went to Heather. Brandi C. is eliminated because Bret doesn’t think he could do anything but party with her. He makes reference to his hit song “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”. She’s shocked that Erin and Jes and Mia are still around when she’s leaving. This time they toast water instead of beer because Bret still hurts from the partying.
Next time, the girls get physical on the football field. Heather writes a long letter telling Bret about all the other girls and Brandi M. tells him that Heather was on Surreal Life trying to get with Vanilla Ice.
