Previously on The Pickup Artist, the students got made over and criticized on their looks by Mystery and his wingmen. They also learned how open a set and tell an interesting story. Fred was booted last time and we’re down to six.
This week starts off with the safe guys from last elimination waiting to see who was booted. They seem relieved to see Brady was safe and Joe D. says he wants him in the final three with him. Brady said he didn’t do what he was supposed to do and was reprimanded for it. Kosmo thinks Brady will have to step his game up if he wants to stay. Joe D. says it’s getting more intense with the group getting smaller and it’s anyone’s game.
Scott is up early the next morning studying and pushing himself to do things he normally wouldn’t do. Kosmo says he has to put in the work to get something out of it. Mystery calls the guys and says he has a surprise for them. He’s wearing Abe Lincoln’s hat with goggles on it and Seinfeld’s puffy shirt in black and asks them if they are good kissers. Everyone says yes except Scott because he lacks experience. Brady is confident in his abilities and Mystery tells them they need to be prepared to kiss beautiful women now.
Mystery leads them to another room where two women await them. Tara was there for an earlier lesson and Leia joins them to teach them all how to kiss. Mystery tells them they will be tested on what they were taught so they need to pay attention. They agree that it’s very important to be a good kisser. Tara says it’s huge and a first kiss has to be good and it’s about gaining trust and comfort, not sex. Leia tells them to make a c-motion across a girl’s face and brush her hair away and lean in. All the guys are on the edge of their seat to see if the girls will kiss, but they don’t. Joe D. admits he lets the women make the first move and Tara tells him to just feel out the situation. They all grab a piece of fruit and practice kissing as if it’s a real woman and really get into it. The girls remind them not to introduce tongue for the first 30 seconds.
Mystery comes back in and tells them it’s time for the reward challenge. They will win an earpiece which Mystery can speak through during their field test. They will be judged on how well they kiss by Tara. They leave the room and will be called in one by one. Leia blindfolds Tara and Scott comes in the room. He says he’s very nervous because he hasn’t kissed a girl in a long long time. He says it was great, but he looks very awkward doing it. He says he felt passionate. Joe D. says he has approach anxiety and cuts the kiss short. He goes back in for more when Leia prompts him to. He says he is really bashful and didn’t know how much passion to put into it. Brady says if he does anything well, it’s kissing. He takes his time caressing Tara’s face and looks natural. Leia has to cut him off. Joe W. is disappointed when there wasn’t much response from Tara and feels he’s a bit lackluster in his performance. Pradeep is nervous and extremely forward as he pulls Tara’s head into his with force. Tara tells Leia she was impressed that he took control. Kosmo says he’ll do well because kissing is part of his Latino culture. He pulls away a lot and keeps going back for more.
Leia says there were both good and bad kisses, but she’s proud of all of them. Leia tells Mystery that Joe D. and Pradeep tied for 2nd place and the winner was Kosmo. He’s so excited that he’s won the best reward so far. He says there is no way he will lose this challenge with Mystery talking in his ear telling him what to do and say.
The next day, Scott is looking forward to what Mystery is going to teach them. They all meet Mystery and the wingmen on the lawn. They are learning kiss tactics he calls “Kino”. Those are things like touches on people’s arms and holding hands. He tells them to put a girl’s hand on their arms and then release to make her feel as if she did something wrong and then come chase him instead. He says they can then lean in and smell her and create a conversation about how they want to kiss her. By reading the IOI (indicators of interest), the guys can figure out if their target is into him or not. They will have to come up with a kiss closer to successfully complete the field test.
Joe D. says he has never initiated a kiss, so this is going to be hard for him. Pradeep hates the field tests and Kosmo primps and praises himself. Tonight’s objective is to kiss a girl with her permission. The student who shows the most proficiency in the field test will be immune from elimination. Mystery gives Kosmo the earpiece and says he’ll be his coach on the other end and tells the guys to make him proud.
Brady enters the club and he’s nervous since he was on the block last time. Joe D. is hoping he can break the mental barrier he has with kissing. Mystery and the Wingmen cheer Brady on as he grabs onto a girl and is really close as Mystery and the Wingmen yell at him to make out and pull the trigger, but he blows it and moves on. They are disappointed with him.
Joe D. talks to a couple of girls, but Mystery points out the girl is running the set and playing him instead. It isn’t long until he’s frozen out. Pradeep tries to move in on some girls and tells them he’s a VIP. He promises them free alcohol and Mystery and the Wingmen are really upset with him.
Scott is trying too hard with conversation and it sounds forced. He does open up a set, but it seems that the set he opened is really a couple. Mystery points out that the girl’s IOI is for the other guy and not Scott. He tries to open another set and Mystery says he has no momentum to go from phase to phase as if he doesn’t want to get a girl.
Joe D. and Joe W. team up and open a couple of girls in a set and Joe W. easily takes one girl away and she is clearly into him. Mystery and the Wingmen are proud of him, but he doesn’t go in for the kiss, even though he knows he could have.
Kosmo is brimming with confidence because he’s got Mystery in his ear telling him what to do. He follows direction well and does everything Mystery says. He goes in for the kiss closer and gets it. Mystery and the Wingmen celebrate and tell him he’s on his own as he makes out with the girl.
At the end of the night, Mystery proclaims Kosmo as the winner and he gets to choose 2 wingmen to save from elimination. Scott knows he’s in trouble, but feels he can still learn a lot and become a master pickup artist. When they get back to the house, it’s elimination time. Mystery tells them they are starting to see where things can take them.
The level 3 medal symbolizes the light at the end of the tunnel. Mystery gives Kosmo the first medal and tells him he’s come a long way since not even approaching a set the first night. Kosmo saves Joe D. and Joe W. from elimination by choosing them as his Wingmen. Matador tells Joe W. that he did very well and it was very beautiful see and he could have gotten the kiss. J-Dog tells Joe D. he needs to leave dead sets and run the game he is capable of running. They take their medallions and all three leave the room.
Mystery tells Pradeep he was pulling on girls to get them to the VIP section and Matador talks about him bribing the girls with alcohol. Mystery tells Brady his looks are helping him, but he needs to learn his game. Matador says he’s disappointed he didn’t pick up on the girl’s advances. Mystery then tells Scott to stop opening couples. Matador doesn’t want him to seem like he’s selling things to people. Mystery gives Brady a medallion for approaching multiple sets and improving in that way.
There is only one medallion left and Mystery tells Scott that he has never had a student work as hard at it as he has. Mystery is confused as to why Pradeep doesn’t use the method because he knows it works. Mystery will give the final medallion to Pradeep because he thinks he has the potential to do well. Scott thanks Mystery and the Wingmen before he leaves and his clips package shows his journey. He says it’s not as hard to be friends with everyone like it was when he started and no one should be worried about him because he wants the women to know that The Scott is coming.
Next week, they have to walk around in speedos and get girls in the hottub. Pradeep wants to quit, and the guys have to pick up girls during the day. There seems to be lots of crying at the next elimination ceremony, including Mystery.

I am very intrigued by what makes them all cry at the end of next episode. I hope it does not end up being something lame, like Mystery has them practice crying or something. I am pulling for Joe D.
