Reality Rewind 11/4 (Smartest Model)

Ah, pigs! Dead pigs, nonetheless. And they are dead pigs that aren’t cooked or edible. That’s right! The models are once again tortured by science when they have to dissect pigs. Who will leave the competition this time? Find out in the recap after the jump.

Last time, the models competed in a science fair and most of them didn’t have a clue. The other challenge was to create a fake tan on a nerd and stage a tropical photoshoot. VJ is accused of sabotaging Jesse and of course Andre butts into the fight. However, Jesse is sent packing.

Andre wakes up and decides he is going to be the last man standing. Blonde Rachel and VJ are snuggling and she talks about how hot he is. When they get downstairs, there is a note with an anatomy book next to it. Angela is excited because her degree is in animal sciences. The note tells them the edge challenge is about anatomy and then makes a comment about VJ and Blonde Rachel. The models hoot and holler and then Mary Alice says that she will be nowhere near the room while the challenge is going on. The note tells them to learn the book inside and out. Lisa is worried because she could get cut for lack of smarts.

There is only one anatomy book and VJ grabs it and runs away. He says he has to do whatever he needs to do to get ready for the challenge. Andre decides he’s going to figure out how to study anyway and checks out a model of a fetus. He says the woman’s womb looked like it was suffocating the boy baby like women do after they are born, too. Serious relationship issues there. Pickel talks about how they were screwed out of the book and they had to read encyclopedias instead. He says it’s so vague it’s pretty much useless. Angela brags about how good she is at science. Pickel gets tired of her science talk and Brett says if it were America’s Most Annoying Model then Angela would win.

Blonde Rachel says she is going to do whatever she can to become smarter. The vans pull up to a high school and Aussie Rachel says it’s her worst fear to have to go into a high school science lab. Ben greets them and introduces the Advanced Biology teacher. Blonde Rachel sees a sheet covering something. Ben tells them Anatomy is best learned through dissection and pulls the sheet off a pile of dead pigs. They all groan and moan and Aussie Rachel says that’s not how she likes her pork. Pickel says it was like a horror movie and Ben tells them that just like 10th grade science students across America, they are going to have to dissect fetal pigs. Blonde Rachel is disgusted and appalled and doesn’t want to do it at all.

The teacher tells them the fetal pigs were never alive and Blonde Rachel says it’s against her religion and they look like her pot bellied pig when she was a baby. The teacher reassures them that the pigs never took a breath and never knew what it was like to be alive. The mother pigs developed some sort of disease and the babies were taken out via c-section before they were born so they never could feel anything or have memories. Daniel is pretty confident since he was an Anatomy major, so he thought it would be fun. Ben tells them they have to take out and identify the following parts: heart, liver, lungs, intestine, tongue, stomach, kidneys, gall bladder, and testicles. VJ is confident because he worked for a butcher for a year. The winner gets the script at the end of the edge challenge and gets to shoot the commercial the next day with warm water. Blonde Rachel is trying to psyche herself up to do it because she can’t do it in cold water.

The teacher has them pick a station. They will get 30 minutes to take out the organs and place them in the correct spaces on their board. They all put on gloves and go to pick up their pigs. Angela thinks she has the edge because she’s done this before. Most of them struggle as they start to cut. Blonde Rachel talks about how she feels like she’s going to throw up. Aussie Rachel gets grossed out by the smell but says she has to get over it to win. Angela is told the more she can get out of her organs, the better her score will be. Andre calls his a soviet and complains that it’s too big for his tray. Daniel’s biggest concern was to not cut the organs and get everything out in 30 minutes. Blonde Rachel has trouble telling between the stomach and the intestines. The teacher makes her take a deep breath and she has to tell herself that there is no soul in the pig. VJ brags to everyone how he worked with a butcher. He thinks he’s kicking butt. The teacher tells them their time is almost up. Most of the models can’t find the testicles. Lisa is convince hers is a girl. When time is up, VJ thinks he did a great job.

Ben comes back and the teacher goes through the models one at a time. Aussie Rachel has a bladder as the testicles, so she gets a B. VJ gets an A. Andre didn’t have testicles or a gall bladder, so he gets a D. Blonde Rachel has good presentation, but she gets an A- for having her intestines with her gall bladder. Brett only has 3/4 of the tongue, so he gets an A-. Lisa gets a B and she thanks the teacher. She did in fact have a female. Pickel gets an A, but his board isn’t completely clean. Angela and Daniel both get great reviews, but Angela’s lung is split so she gets an A-. Daniel gets an A+ and wins the challenge. He gets warm water and the script for the commercial. Pickel says he hit the jackpot.

Angela wants to see if Lisa really did have a female pig, and is able to find the testicles. This upsets Andre for some reason and he gets mad that the teacher gave her a better grade than she deserved. He demands justice and doesn’t want to be on the chopping block. Andre then says it’s about fairness because it’s America and Lisa tells him to do something that is all bleeped out. The fight continues and Daniel tries to tell him it won’t affect him. However, he goes and tells the teacher and Angela shows the teacher where she found the testicles. He confirms that there are indeed testicles and Angela tries to cover up her actions by saying she was just curious and didn’t want to get Lisa in trouble. Andre is happy that know-it-all Angela helped him out for once. Lisa ends up with a C and the teacher tells them to knock it off and he gets more respect from his kids than these models.

After the challenge, Daniel reads his lines and tries to memorize them so he can repeat them flawlessly at the challenge, but there are a lot of lines to memorize. Andre decides to practice by plunging into a cold shower. He makes up some of his own words for the commercial and practices talking while the cold water is beating down on him.

Mary Alice meets them the next day to tell them about the commercial they are shooting for Lather Bodywash. The owner of the company will pick the best commercial and they will be immune. He tells them he will be looking at their expressions and gestures to find someone to represent his product. Mary Alice tells them they will get their scripts for 20 minutes and then have to shoot the commercial in ice cold water. Angela says she’s not worried about it because she’s taken cold showers before. The catch is that they have to entrust the decision of which is the best take to one of their other competitors. Blonde Rachel and VJ team up, of course and Brett and Pickel hug. Angela and Lisa team up and Lisa is confident that Angela will help her out because she feels guilty about getting her grade lowered with the pigs. Andre is alone and Mary Alice questions him about why he doesn’t trust someone. Andre picks Pickel because he thinks he’s fair. The director tells them to work through straight and they want a clean shot. They won’t be using cuts.

Daniel will go first since he’s had the script the longest. He practices with his partner Aussie Rachel and VJ tries to eavesdrop to hear what the lines are. Brett and Pickel catch him and Brett doesn’t like how he cheats and wants to call him out on it. He goes around the corner to tell Aussie Rachel and Daniel that VJ is listening. VJ isn’t trying to hide the fact he’s listening in and Aussie Rachel says it’s not fair and takes Daniel elsewhere to practice. VJ tells Brett he needs to step it up instead of getting his panties in a bunch. They have a few words and VJ walks off.

Daniel and Aussie Rachel go to meet the director. Daniel is nervous because he’s not good at memorizing lines. He messes up several takes, but he finishes and Aussie Rachel chooses take 5 for him as his best. Aussie Rachel is next and feels she needs to prove herself because she’s done commercial work before. She does well until the cold comes pouring out and then she stumbles. All of the rest of the models try to make it through the shoot with the cold water. Blonde Rachel tries not to get in the water and can’t remember her lines. Lisa gets out of the shot when she lathers her legs and Andre fights the cold water. Pickel is worried about the name of the product. VJ also has trouble. Brett gets it right at the end, but they call time before he can finish his take.

They all meet up and Mary Alice watches their commercials. Daniel’s is first and Andre says he’s one of the worst actors he’s ever seen. He’s not impressed with all of his edges. Pickel says that Aussie Rachel has the perfect look and ambiance for commercials. Blonde Rachel’s shoot was a disaster, but VJ’s was very natural and good. Mary Alice tells Daniel he could have worked the water more and he gets a B. Aussie Rachel gets an A. Angela gets a B- and is told to loosen up. Lisa gets a C- and Brett gets a C for shouting. Pickel gets a B and Andre is given a B+. Blonde Rachel fails and is confused why they are so harsh. VJ also gets an A. Andre decides to speak for the whole house and tell Mary Alice that VJ has been cheating. Mary Alice is amazed they feel that is cheating and says he was just being observant. The owner of the product says it’s a lesson for real life and VJ wins the challenge. He will be immune at the elimination ceremony. Andre is pissed off that VJ keeps getting away with cheating.

In the van, Blonde Rachel is still whining about failing and she starts crying to VJ. She felt like she’s going to be the one to leave and she was surprised the competition was so intense. At the elimination ceremony, Lisa is worried about being cut. Ben greets them and tells VJ he’ll be back and can’t be eliminated. Brett says he’s sneaky and it’s unfair. VJ says he’s the only one who understands what competition is about. Mary Alice informs them they will only be calling two people down and they know who they are, so they should come down front. Lisa and Blonde Rachel head down and Ben tells them they must have ESP. Mary Alice asks them why they think they are down there. Lisa is afraid this will be her last time to be in front of Ben and Mary Alice, so she decides to lay it all on the line. She admits she’s not as smart as the others and she knows it, but she feels confident about other things. Blonde Rachel tells them not only is she beautiful on the outside, but she’s beautiful on the inside too.

Mary Alice tells them that Blonde Rachel did better with the pig, but Lisa did better in the commercial shoot. Since it’s America’s Most Smartest Model, they will now have a “smart off” to see who stays. Ben tells them to just jump in and tell them the answer. Blonde Rachel was nervous but knows it’s her chance to stay in the house. Ben asks them what country Darfour is in. Blonde Rachel has heard of it and knew there was a problem there, but neither of them know where it is. Who wrote Tom Sawyer? Blonde Rachel guesses Tom Sawyer and the other models all laugh. Ben asks them how much they win on a 3-1 bet of $5. Lisa says $5 and Blonde Rachel finally gets a question right with the answer of $15. In what century was the American Civil War. Blonde Rachel is correct again with the 19th century. Blonde Rachel also knows George Bush ran against John Kerry in 2004. She is way ahead of Lisa who says she doesn’t want to deal with facts and figures. Mary Alice tells Lisa she has to be smart to make it to the top in modeling. Lisa says she’s got street smarts so Ben asks her what Mary Alice’s last name is. She says it’s Alice and everyone laughs. Pickel says she just conceded the competition. Ben hopes she realizes she doesn’t belong there. He cuts her. She says she does have talent and Mary Alice tells her she will be fine. She cries and says Ben and Mary Alice are missing out on an amazing person.

Mary Alice tells Blonde Rachel she dodged another bullet, but she may not be so lucky next time. She’s just happy she gets another night with VJ. They are down to half the field now. Brett says he needs to pull himself together and get rid of VJ. Pickel says it’s about to get real.

Next time, they have to do some Geometry and Blonde Rachel can’t draw shapes. The callback challenge is to build their own look and work it on the runway. There also seems to be a surprising boot next week as well.
