New “I Love the…” Show on the Way

by Heather Scoville

hal.jpgOh, heck yeah! As I was reading around the internet, I came across an interview with one of my favorite TV personalities Hal Sparks. The interview was meh, but I love me some Hal, so I read it anyway. He did mention that he has already filmed a new installment of the “I Love the…” series (like “I Love the 80s”) tentatively “I Love the Millennium”. He said it was going to air sometime this summer on VH1. (He also mentioned they asked him to do some “Best Week Ever” episodes and he agreed, so that’s great news for me, too!)

“I Love the Millennium” will be sort of like an “I Love the ’00s”, but closer to the first half of the decade. Of course VH1 couldn’t wait until the end of the decade to do the show, so we’ll have to see how they break it up. I’m not sure if it will be half as many episodes and just end the series at 2005 to be continued after we finish the second half, or they will break it up some other way (categories like fashion, entertainment, technology, etc.?). All I know is that there is plenty to make fun of already, and I’m sure there will be lots more before we close up this decade.

What do you think will be included in the reminiscing of the show? Definitely Uggs and Crocs (those darn ugly shoes could get an entire episode, really) should make the list. I’m guessing some technology like MySpace and Facebook will be on there, as well as the iPhone and text messaging.

Leave me some comments for what is SURE to make the list and then we’ll tune in together this summer to see what they got right and what they missed.
