Celebrity Rehab Rehash 1/17

So I am watching Celebrity Rehab, just as you are, I imagine. I wish I had time, but I honestly don’t have time to keep up with recapping the show since it’s on Thursdays. Instead, I’ve decided I’ll just post some opinions and thoughts about the episodes as they air. There is a new episode airing tonight, but I’ll start at the beginning with the premiere episode that aired last week. There were some big messes and some that were interestingly pretty sane for a show called Celebrity Rehab.

Let’s hit the highlights (lowlights?), shall we? Keep reading after the jump.

What an eclectic mix of messed up and washed up celebrities. I have to say I’m honestly glad some of these people are getting help because they would surely be dead very soon if they didn’t. When I say that, first and foremost I’m referring to Jeff Conway. There was something clearly going on a couple of years ago when he was kicked off of Celebrity Fit Club and it’s all just gone downhill quickly. I think his girlfriend should be in jail for helping him do drugs (and helping herself to the drugs). I mean she was holding his rolled up dollar bill so he could snort the coke off the table. Talk about enabling. Hopefully after he was carted away in the ambulance and gets out of the crazy whacked out state he’ll remember what that was like going through that and really stay off the drugs for good.

What about that girl that used to be on Family Matters? I can’t believe she’s such a major pothead. She’s still young and can really get her career back if she can get clean because she turned out to be a very pretty girl. Jessica Sierra seems so normal on the show, but we all know she didn’t learn her lesson during her time at Celebrity Rehab, which is too bad. Chyna, strangely enough, may just be the most sane one there. It was also nice to see her reunion with her Surreal Life friend Brigitte and hopefully they’ll both get well. Shifty just hasn’t gotten enough air time, but the crack smoking videos were scary. I also thought it was strange for Daniel Baldwin to be there and claim he didn’t do cocaine even though his test said he did. I wonder if Dr. Drew will get to the bottom of that one.

Then there was Mary. Oh, dear porn star Mary Carey. She was way over the top. They got rid of all of her sex toys and videos and told her no sex while she was there. I think she may have a harder time with that rather than getting clean off the alcohol and drugs. She says she wants to clean up her whole life and get out of the porn industry, but she sure isn’t acting like it. It will be interesting to see if she can make the total transformation or is just there for the publicity. Really, that goes for all of the celebrities in this rehab. I hope for everyone’s sake they all take it seriously.
