Watching VH1

Hogan may know best, but his daughter Brooke is popping up everywhere recently. There has been much speculation on whether or not Brooke has had breast augmentation recently since she seems to be filling out her bikini top a little more fully now. There has been no official word from the Hogan camp on this latest, uh, development.

Brooke’s agent has also announced a mall tour for the up and coming singer, which started last week. Not since Tiffany in the 80s have we seen this type of marketing come to fruition, so keep your fingers crossed Brooke can pull it off and cause a frenzy outside of the Orange Julius. Here is a list of her currently scheduled appearances:

Still not enough Brooke Hogan for you? Well, the fourth season of “Hogan Knows Best” on VH1 premieres this Sunday, July 22nd at noon. The drama seems to be increased this year with talk of divorce (as reported here in an earlier story). Do you think Hulk and Linda are really in trouble, or is it just hype for the new season? Everything old is new again. Everything retro is hot. Music is no exception to this rule and there are some great groups reuniting for tours in 2007. Obviously, the biggest news lately has been the Spice Girls reunion, complete with a Greatest Hits CD. I wonder, however, if they are going to wear those silly “costumes” and personas now that they are all grown up.

Of course, Bret Michaels (star of VH1’s new series Rock of Love) and Poison are also making the rounds this summer, as are the newly reunited (at the VH1 Rock Honors show) Genesis. Other great bands from the 80s like The Police, Wham!, Rage Against the Machine, and (most of) The Cars are also hitting the stage for a new tour.

Hits like “No Such Thing” and “Your Body is a Wonderland” brought John Mayer’s folksy pop sound to the mainstream. Several Grammy Awards and a few albums later, he is on tour again. At the date of this post, John is making the rounds in Canada and he will soon be back in the States in early May to play even more dates. Don’t worry if your summer is already booked, because this tour lasts until September 20th with a final show in the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. No word if his current girlfriend Jessica Simpson will be there to watch.

Hot off the heels of Gwen Stefani’s appearance as a mentor on American Idol, she has started up her tour featuring Akon, who sings with her on Gwen’s current hit “The Sweet Escape”. The pair have been everywhere recently, from the aforementioned American Idol performance, to the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (see picture above). If these TV performances have been any indication, get ready for a high energy show. The US leg of the tour ends June 29th in Reno, NV before Gwen and Akon head off to Europe. This week at Watching VH1, we’ll be highlighting current and upcoming tours by your favorite VH1 artists. Today’s featured tour is the Ten Tour headlined by Brian McKnight with special guests Joe and Sunshine Anderson.
