Watching VH1

First of all, I have no idea what most of these people have to do with music or celebrating the greatest music artists out there, but who cares? They’ve all got shows to promote on VH1, and that’s what’s important, right? There were all kinds of CelebReality stars out and about at the Grammy Awards and the parties leading up to the ceremony and also into the wee hours of the night at the after parties. Hopefully, those Celebrity Rehab stars didn’t fall off the wagon with all of the celebrating!

The previews for next week’s Rock of Love shows Heather writing a letter to Bret about all of the girls in the house. When Bret confronts them, Brandi M. tells him that Heather was on the Surreal Life trying to sleep with Vanilla Ice. Is this true or just a ploy to get rid of Heather? Well, I’ve done my best to find out.

I, of course, remember the infamous “This looks like a whore house” breakdown Vanilla Ice (Rob Van Winkle) had during The Surreal Life: Fame Games season. I figured that was the place to start looking since he was upset that a stripper was on his bed when he came to his room. I was disappointed, at first, to see that the stripper in his bed was NOT Heather. However, Heather does appear later in the clip in the background (when Brigitte joins in the argument). Check it out.

Considering Heather doesn’t even come into the picture until Rob is already ranting and raving about the whore house, I doubt she actually slept with Rob. It isn’t necessarily out of the question, though, that something happened with another cast member (maybe Ron Jeremy?). Let’s not jump to conclusions about Heather or her sexual conquests. What is clear from this clip is that she was definitely on the show and this could lead Bret to believe her intentions of being on his show are more for fame and less for him. I guess we’ll just have to see how it all plays out this week on Rock of Love.

The Surreal Life Fame Games ended with a bang and Traci Bingham, former Playboy Playmate and Baywatch Babe, came out on top with the $100,000 prize. Now Traci is auctioning herself off for charity. You can win a dinner date and a kiss on the cheek from the model/actress (no word if dinner will include rubber chicken shots). The auction for the special date runs July 23-August 6 at the CharityFolks website. What exactly will you win if you’re the high bidder?

CelebReality and Surreal Life star Tammy Faye Bakker Messner has died at the age of 65. She has been valiantly fighting cancer for some time now. To read more about her life and death, check out the story in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

There are starting to be some rumblings about who will be included in the upcoming season of The Surreal Life’s cast. It has been seemingly confirmed that Poker star Phil Hellmuth will be in the house, along with larger than life former professional wrestler “Macho Man” Randy Savage. Even more intriguing, though, is the scuttle that famed faux-psychic “Miss Cleo” will also be included in the cast.

Both Hellmuth and Savage are known for their quirky personalities while Miss Cleo adds that “mystery” element. Everyone wants to know more about the disgraced psychic spokesperson who may in actuality have just been caught up in an elaborate scam that was not necessarily her doing. We recall the PTL Club and Tammy Faye in a way.

Even though there has yet to be any official press release or cast list from VH1, the rest of the cast is looking to be made up of actor Dabney Coleman, American Idol reject Nikki McKibbin, and comedian/walking product placement Carrot Top. When we last saw Corey Feldman, he was marrying his girlfriend on VH1’s “The Surreal Life” with his castmates in attendance (and Reverend MC Hammer performing the ceremony). He spent most of his time in the Surreal Life mansion planning the made-for-ratings wedding, yelling at his fiance over the phone, and trying to prove his relevance to his other washed up roomies.

I, for one, was very surprised to read he is still married and now has a two year old son. After the way he treated Susie in front of those cameras, it’s a miracle they’ve made it for 5 years of marriage. The Boston Herald quotes:

“Whereas I used to get depressed or neurotic or dwell on things, I see my son’s bright eyes and smile in the morning, and suddenly, I don’t feel like I’m depressed anymore,” Feldman, 35, said. “There’s nothing to be depressed about when you’ve got that.”

Corey’s new reality show set to air on A&E is called “The Two Coreys” and will follow him and his good friend and co-star from the 80s Corey Haim. There was a rumor awhile back that Corey Haim was set to appear on Celebrity Fit Club, but ended up in rehab instead. I used to love the Coreys when I was younger, so this sounds like a great show to me! What do you think? Leave some comments below and let me know which Corey was your favorite.

From time to time, I hope to update you on the whereabouts and current projects of former VH1 CelebReality stars. I mean, where do you go after you have been on the has-been list that is VH1 CelebReality shows? I do love me some of these crazy shows, but let’s face it–CelebReality isn’t exactly A-List.

I’m starting off this new feature with model, and Surreal Life 4 star Marcus Schenkenberg. After laying low for a few years doing commentary on an Italian soccer television station, it seems Marcus has hit the big time. “Terminator 4″ is now casting, and since Arnold Schwarzenegger has taken that “other job”, it needs a new star. Well, it looks like that star will be none other than Mr. Schenkenberg (what is it with the “Terminator” movies and stars with hard to spell last names?). Comingsoon.net reports:

The male model Marcus Schenkenberg was on a Dutch tv show and mentioned he went to Cannes last week and booked four new movie roles. One thing that stood out was Terminator 4 and he also mentioned that Schwarzenegger would have a 30-sec cameo.

No other cast members have been announced, but the movie is set to come out in 2008 or 2009 and will be written by the “Terminator 3″ team.

Relive a clip from the first episode of The Surreal Life 5. That was the crazy season that had Janice Dickinson and Omarosa constantly fighting (for camera time) and of course Jose Canseco wearing women’s lingerie. In this clip, “security guard” Andy Dick welcomes the cast to the fun house.

Yes, VH1 reruns its CelebReality lineup into the ground as their respective season airs, and then again in marathon form when new seasons of the shows are premiering, but if you miss the “classic” seasons of these shows, then this deal is for you.

Early reports are saying that the TV Guide channel is paying out $6.7 million dollars for the exclusive three-year rights of old episodes of shows like “My Fair Brady”, “The Surreal Life”, “Flavor of Love”, and “Strange Love”. The channel will also get first dibs of “I Love New York” and “Charm School” after they’ve run their course on VH1. During those three years, VH1 will not be allowed to show any of those episodes.

Remember that Surreal Life 5 challenge where CC Deville and his castmates had to out rock the Poison tribute band called “Posin”? You know, that was the show when Andrea Lowell got drunk, gyrated around the stage, and took off her clothes much to the chagrin of Florence Henderson. Oh, wait, that was every show that season. Anyway, the tribute band Posin is apparently going to have their time in the spotlight with their own reality show on VH1. According to this article, Posin will be filmed tonight at the WIMI Monsters of Mock Concert in Ironwood, Michigan for a future episode of this yet unnamed reality show.
