Last night on Entertainment Tonight, they did a feature story on the one and only Scott Baio, whose VH1 reality show “Scott Baio is 45…and Single” debuts this Sunday. This is not the typical CelebReality dating show like Flavor of Love, I Love New York, or the upcoming Rock of Love with Bret Michaels. Instead, Scott tries to figure out where he went wrong in his love life and why he has never been married after all these years.
The first episode will find him choosing a “life coach” to help him figure out his problems. He settles on Dr. Ali who gives him a set of three rules he must follow for the entire 8 week program.
1. He must revisit all of his ex-girlfriends and figure out what went right and wrong in each relationship. This means he’ll have to see his “Happy Days” co-star Erin Moran and other various celebrity girlfriends he did wrong.
2. He must remain celibate for the entire program. His buddies make bets on how long he’ll actually last and even buy him some strippers to make him mess up. Nice friends, Scott. Maybe that’s why you aren’t married.
3. He has to break up with his current girlfriend, Renee, and not see her for the entire program.
Entertainment Tonight gives a sneak peek of how she reacts to that news:
Scott, who has been looking for love, has been dating RENEE for the past year and a half. He feels she is “perfect,” but he isn’t sure how she is going to react to the news that they have to be apart for two months. When he tells her, she insists she will be his “biggest cheerleader,” but she cautions him that he had better be able to make a commitment at the end of the eight weeks, or she will have to let him go.
From the previews, Renee looks like a very intelligent, beautiful, and stable woman. Let’s hope Scott Baio can come to terms with his past and his fears and settle down with her for good. And of course, we’ll have fun watching it all happen! The premiere is on this Sunday July 15th at 10:30 PM ET.
