It’s Saturday, so it’s time for another VH1 video clip. This week, I’ve chosen a snippet from “Best Week Ever” of Paul F. Tompkins giving his top 5 “That’s Just Not Right” moments of 2006. I know I shook my head at these things last year. How about you? What would you add to the list? Leave me some comments or email your thoughts to me.
VH1 has turned nostalgia into a profitable jaunt down memory lane. Shows like “I Love the 80s”, “I Love the 90s”, and “I Love the 70s” franchises have given VH1 the reputation of the source for reliving the past and all of the pop culture from those eras that you can imagine. I, for one, cannot get enough of listening to semi-celebrities make fun of trends from my youth.
They took that idea of nostalgia one step further and created a sort of “instant nostalgia” with its weekly recap show “Best Week Ever”. Highlights of the biggest stories of the week are retold from a humorous perspective by a team of comedians and guest stars who poke fun of the week in pop culture. Topics can range from politics to entertainment and even include online videos of popular interest. Relive the triumphs and defeats of the week to find out who had the “Best Week Ever”.
This idea has become so popular that the creative team behind the TV show does periodic podcasts that they post online at YouTube of daily happenings called “Best Night Ever”. Here is a clip from March 20th “Best Night Ever”:

CelebReality—a feisty blend of reality television and trashy tabloids—gives VH1 a flavor no other channel can match. Visit for news on shows such as “Celebrity Fit Club”, “Best Week Ever”, and “The Surreal Life”. Recaps, viewing schedules, breaking news, and all sorts of opinionated commentary will be featured in daily posts. Instant nostalgia at its finest—that’s VH1 and watchingvh1.com.
