Sometimes Life Gets Busy…

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Hello, my dear Watching VH1 readers!

It is with a heavy heart that I post this farewell note to you all. My life has gotten insanely busy and I’ve had to downsize a couple of my blogs, and unfortunately, this is one of them. I’ve been blogging for an entire year here and really enjoyed it, but I needed to cut ties and just didn’t have time to give this site the attention it deserves.

Thanks for reading all of these months and I’m sure the new writer that takes over this blog will be fabulous, so keep coming back and support whoever that might be, okay?

I’m still going to be around (somewhat) over at Country Music Herald, so you can still get a hold of me over there to chat or talk about VH1 crazy shows.

Thanks again!

Heather

Celebrity Fit Club is Back With a Twist

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

harvey_sm.jpgAre you looking forward to seeing more celebrities sweat off their extra weight with Drill Sergeant Harvey Walden IV? Well, your wait is just about over! Celebrity Fit Club is back and will air Thursdays starting March 13th. However, it’s not Fit Club like you’re used to. It’s got a whole new look and feel to the show.

First of all, it’s called “Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp”. That’s right! Not only will they be bunking together in a barracks like setting, they get a lot more of Harvey yelling at them. Woo hoo! The other twist is that these won’t be significantly overweight celebs, but instead some that just need to shed those last 20 or so pounds before reaching their goal weight. The new season will also pit Fit Club veterans (Toccara, Willie Ames, Tina Yothers, and *gulp* Dustin Diamond) against 4 new celebs (Erin Moran from “Happy Days”, Sommore from “Queens of Comedy”, AJ Benza a Pro Poker Player, and Brian Dunkelman the displaced host from the first season of “American Idol”). The cast will not only be judged on number of pounds lost, but overall fat percentage lost. If you have no idea who these people are, you can see pictures of them at VH1.com.

Ant is back to host for his sixth time, and Dr. Ian Smith and Psychologist Stacy Kaiser also return to help out the celebs with their wisdom and guidance. It looks like it should be a fun season!

The only thing I’m not really looking forward to is more Dustin Diamond. He sucked up all the screen time in his season and drove me crazy. I love me some “Saved By the Bell”, but it wasn’t the Screech scenes that made me want to come back for more and the same applies to Celebrity Fit Club. Let’s hope he’s mellowed out or living in the same room with everyone else under Harvey’s thumb will straighten him out. Let me know what you like and what you don’t about this new season in the comment section below.

New CelebReality Line Up

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

rol_logo_sm2.gif baio_sm.jpg

As the current season of CelebReality winds down, VH1 is already starting to hype their new season. Finales have already been aired of America’s Most Smartest Model, The Salt N Pepa Show, Gotti’s Way, and I Love New York 2. The season finale of The Shot airs this weekend and the I Love New York Reunion show will air after a short holiday break.

So what’s on the list for January? Surprisingly enough, Flavor of Love 3 is not on the docket for the newest CelebReality season, even though it should be finished filming already. There are, however, plenty of new seasons of some of your favorite CelebReality shows, as well as some brand new offerings that will begin in January.

To see what’s in store on VH1 starting in January, keep reading after the jump.

A Little Behind on Recaps…

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

Hello to my fellow VH1-aholics! This is just a little note to let you all know I’m a little bit behind on my recaps (I have Smartest Model, Salt N Pepa and TWO Gotti’s Way shows to do yet!). I haven’t forgotten and I will get them all in, I promise! I had some trouble with my VCR and had to wait for repeats of some shows. I apologize for that, and if there is anyone out there who wants to buy me a TiVo, email me!

Meanwhile, enjoy the archives and the other news I’m bringing to you and check back in the next couple of days as I get caught up.

Thanks for reading!

I’m Thankful For…

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

FHH0244.jpg

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have a lot to be thankful for in my life, and I hope you don’t mind if I share it with you here today on my favorite holiday.

I am most thankful for my wonderful friends and family. I live for them and am very blessed and loved.

I’m thankful for VH1. Not only does it provide me with hours of mindless entertainment, it has given me a way to share that enjoyment with many others through this blog.

Finally, I’m thankful for all of you–my readers. You all make it worthwhile to write those crazy long recaps and scour the news for tidbits you want to know. Thanks for reading what I have to say!

What are you thankful for? Let me know in the comments below!

Season 2 for Scott Baio

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

baio2.jpgAre we at all surprised by this announcement? It was just too conveniently ended to NOT have another season. The next season, set to shoot this fall, is expected to air early next year. This time, it will focus on all of the changes in Scott’s life including his upcoming wedding, becoming a father and a step father, and his changing relationships with his friends (including Johnny V.). The Hollywood Reporter claims:

The new season goes production in the fall and is slated to run with nine episodes (six half-hours and three hourlong installments).

No word on if Doc Ali will play a part in this season or on the new title of the show. Obviously, it will need a new title since Scott Baio will no longer be 45 or Single this season. Can you come up with a good name? Leave it in the comments below and I’ll send the best one in to VH1 for consideration.

Help the Rich Cronin Hope Foundation

Friday, August 10th, 2007

hopestrideslogosmaller.jpgI am raising money for the Rich Cronin Hope Foundation and I’m asking you to help by making a contribution! I was fortunate enough to interview Rich Cronin (formerly of the group LFO, now starring in Mission: Man Band on VH1) for my blog (it will be posted soon!). He is a great guy who was sadly diagnosed with Leukemia in 2005. Luckily Rich found a bone marrow donor who matched his type through the National Bone Marrow Registry. He has created this foundation to raise money to get more donors on the registry and hopefully save more lives.

I have pledged to walk 100 miles before October and raise funds for this cause. I need your help. Please use the link in this post to donate online quickly & securely. You will receive email confirmation of your donation and I will be notified as soon as you make your donation. I thank you in advance for your support, and really appreciate your generosity!

http://www.active.com/donate/hopestrides/watchingvh1

Please pass on this post to as many people as you can to encourage them to donate as well! You can also join in the cause and pledge to walk and raise money as well. Check out http://www.richcroninhopefoundation.com for more information.

Thanks again for your help!

Sureshot Interview Postponed

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

So I’m a little bummed, but my interview with the guys from Mission: Man Band got postponed. It was supposed to happen this afternoon, but their flight out of NYC got in the way, so we’re postponing the interview. I’m still going to do one, though, so keep those questions coming! I’ll let you know when it is rescheduled. Thanks for reading and keep watching Mission: Man Band on VH1!

Flavor of Love 3 Casting Call

Friday, July 27th, 2007

Yeah, BOOOYYY-EEEEEE! Flav-or FLAV!

There will be a Flavor of Love 3. Do you have what it takes to win Flav’s heart (or other various body parts)? Put on your best clock necklace and make your way to Lotus Lounge in Atlanta for the Open Casting Call on August 6th. This is the only audition spot I am aware of at this time, but I will post if I find more information on other sites.

Gossip GangSTAR Gets Show on VH1

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

perez.jpgPerez Hilton, self proclaimed “Queen of All Media”, announced on his website last Friday that he has signed a deal with VH1 for a series of specials based on his celebrity gossip blog. The new show is set to debut in September and should be an interesting addition to the CelebReality lineup.

Perez describes his new show on his blog:

The show will be a fun, fresh way of looking at the wacky world of celebrities and interacting with them. It will be like PerezHilton.com come to life, but even juicier.

Juicier? Than the blog? Wow. We are in for some snarky, nasty, trashy talk with this new show. I, personally, read Perez’s blog often, but others are completely put off by his tone and “meanness” to the celebrities. However, it would seem Perez would be a perfect fit on a channel that boasts crazy cat fights over rappers who wear clocks. I will give this show a shot, will you? Let me know in the comments.
