Ahhh, how I wish I were doing this blog back when the White Rapper Show was on the air. However, I can bring you this great video the contestants produced for one of the challenges. I hope it makes you bop your head and smile.

It is premiere weekend on VH1! New shows Charm School and The Springer Hustle join the CelebReality lineup on Sunday, along with an I Love New York reunion special. Remember that Surreal Life 5 challenge where CC Deville and his castmates had to out rock the Poison tribute band called “Posin”? You know, that was the show when Andrea Lowell got drunk, gyrated around the stage, and took off her clothes much to the chagrin of Florence Henderson. Oh, wait, that was every show that season. Anyway, the tribute band Posin is apparently going to have their time in the spotlight with their own reality show on VH1. According to this article, Posin will be filmed tonight at the WIMI Monsters of Mock Concert in Ironwood, Michigan for a future episode of this yet unnamed reality show.

Those giant scales and Ant are back for the fifth season of VH1’s CelebReality staple, Celebrity Fit Club. This season will pit the men against the women in their weight loss competition for fabulous prizes and a smaller waistline. To make things fairer, the contestants will be competing for percentage of weight lost instead of actual pounds.

Dr. Ian Smith and Drill Instructor Harvey Walden IV again sit on the panel of experts, but Dr. Linda Papadapolous is taking the season off and will be replaced by psychotherapist Stacy Kaiser. There promises to be fireworks in the very first episode’s fit camp when some of the fit clubbers resist Harvey’s charming demands.

The contestants cover a wide range this year in both level of celebrity and amount of weight to lose. The women’s team consists of Maureen “Marcia Brady” McCormick, rapper Da Brat, American Idol third place contestant Kimberley Locke, and 80s pop princess Tiffany. The men are Dustin “Screech” Diamond, country music parody artist Cledus T. Judd, R&B artist Warren G, and Ross “The Tonight Show Intern” Matthews. After 16 years of marriage, Gretchen Bonaduce filed papers asking for a divorce from VH1 CelebReality star Danny Bonaduce. The “Breaking Bonaduce” pair displayed their bad times as well as the good times for VH1 cameras for two seasons of the reality show. We watched as Danny fought his inner demons and addictions with his wife and kids by his side. Gretchen’s lawyer has been hinting she filed for divorce to protect their children and give them a more stable environment to grow up in. She is seeking joint custody of their children so Danny can still strive to become a better role model for their children.

I guess showing his kids how to photocopy his private parts isn’t exactly considered “good parenting”. It is kind of sad this is happening as Danny really worked hard to get cleaned up for his family. Gretchen and the kids were a big part of his success, and I’m hopeful he doesn’t regress after this latest bump in the road. I think everyone who has ever seen the Jerry Springer Show has wondered where in the world they find those unbelievable guests. Luckily, VH1 is brave enough to go behind the scenes and bring us loyal viewers the toils and tribulations of the Jerry Springer Show production staff.

We will be introduced to producers Selena, Annette, and Toby as they try to impress the boss, Richard. They come up with the show themes and are charged with tracking down the people who live those crazy lives. Of course, Jerry is right in the mix and brings the production staff’s ideas to life. If the office is half as crazy as what happens on stage, I don’t think even Steve the bouncer will be able to help.

Does Tango already have a girlfriend? The fine folks at MediaTakeOut.com claim he does and got an exclusive interview:

MediaTakeOut.com located a woman claiming to be Tango’s girlfriend - and she had a lot to say. The young lady, who is a student at Florida A&M University, told us, “The show was just a big game … you know, for his rap career. But that psycho New York doesn’t seem to get it. The crazy [EXPLETIVE] texts [Tango] at least 100 times a day and sends him all kinds of naked pictures of herself.”

And according to the woman, she’s beginning to fear for her safety. She explains, “I’m not really worried about Tango leaving me for her. But I’m worried that [New York] may spazz out one day and come and get us.” The young lady continues, “If you read some of the things she sends [Tango], you’d be worried too. In one message she said that she’s not afraid to murder someone for [Tango]. … Most of the times me and [Tango] read what she writes, we laugh at her. But there’s nothing funny about murder.”

They may not have found true love with Flava Flav, but 13 former Flavor of Love contestants have been invited to Charm School for a chance to win $50,000. Of course, they are going to have to survive becoming proper ladies under the tutelage of comedienne Mo’Nique. That means no weave pulling, taking a dump on the stairs, or spitting in someone else’s mouth. Aw, man! At least Mo’Nique is there to make sure the girls know just how ridiculous they really are.

This new CelebReality offering on VH1 will premiere on April 15th at 10:00 PM EST. Some of the most memorable contestants from both seasons of Flavor of Love are back and ready to beat the competition. From season one are Smiley, Serious, Pumkin, Rain, Goldie, and Hottie. Representing season two will be Buckwild, Buckeey, Bootz, Like Dat, Saaphyri, Krazy, and the hopefully drunk Toasteee. It looks to be a knock down, drag out, finger-wavin’ catfight fest. I can’t wait! I am taking bets on the first fight–let me know who will be involved in the comments section below.

Need some entertainment for your weekend? Never fear! I will be checking out Youtube for the best of VH1 in video clips and bringing them to you each and every Saturday and Sunday. Today’s video is a great compilation of lines from The Agency’s self described “ball breaker” Becky. Listen to her be belligerent, berate super skinny models for being fat, complain about complexions, chins, and teeth, and get drunk!

As I was surfing the internet, I came across an article at MediaTakeOut.com breaking the story that VH1 and host Mo’Nique are being sued for stealing the idea behind Charm School, VH1’s new show that takes former Flavor of Love contestants and tries to turn them into proper ladies. The following letter, which was sent to VH1, has details of the situation.

RE: Drew Sidora - “Ghetto Fabulous”

Ladies and Gentlemen:

We represent Drew Sidora and her affiliated entities. VH1’s new reality television series “Charm School” (the “Series”) is a blatant infringement of Ms. Sidora’s copyrighted reality television project “Ghetto Fabulous” (the “Project”).

Ms. Sidora and her manager, Allison Jordan, together with Charles Sims, prepared a treatment (the “Treatment”) for the Project, which they registered with the Writers Guild of America on February 19, 2004 and again on April 8, 2004. In early 2005, Ms. Jordan and Corliss King pitched the Project and submitted the Treatment to Stacey Jenkins at VH1. Ms. Jordan and Ms. King described the Project as a reality show about “Ghetto Fabulous” girls who are taught proper etiquette and transformed from ghetto to glamorous. Ms. Jordan and Ms. King spoke with Ms. Jenkins on multiple separate occasions over the course of more than a year, setting forth many potential story ideas and scenarios.

Although Ms. Jenkins unequivocally indicated to Ms. Jordan and Ms. King that VH1 genuinely liked the concept and told them that VH1 intended to pursue the Project, Ms. Jordan and Ms. King did not hear from Ms. Jenkins or anyone else at VH1 again. Ms. Sidora therefore presumed that VH1 had elected not to pursue the development of the Project.

In light of the foregoing, Ms. Sidora, Ms. Jordan, Ms. King and Mr. Sims were shocked and outraged last week when for the first time they saw the promotional segments for the Series. VH1’s description of the Series reads like the description of the Project. Specifically, VH1 describes the Series as a reality series about “ghetto fabulous” girls who are enrolled in a charm school and thereby transformed from ghetto to glamorous.

VH1’s liability under copyright and tort law is clear. It is undisputed that VH1 had extensive access to the Project. Moreover, based on the overwhelming substantial similarities between the Project and the Series, a reasonable person would conclude that the Series is a blatant misappropriation of the Project.

Accordingly, Ms. Sidora demands that VH1 immediately cease and desist from any further development, production, distribution and any other exploitation of the Series, and confirm to us in writing not later than April 1, 2007 that VH1 has done so. In addition, VH1 must compensate Ms. Sidora for the illegal and infringing use of the Project and the loss of opportunity to produce the Project as a television series. If VH1 fails so to comply, our client will protect her rights by aggressively pursuing legal and equitable remedies against VH1, including asserting claims for copyright infringement, breach of implied contract, breach of confidence, interference with prospective economic advantage, and unfair competition—claims that carry significant compensatory and punitive damages as well as injunctive relief.

This letter is not intended to be a complete recitation of the relevant facts of this matter. Furthermore, nothing contained herein shall be deemed a waiver of our client’s rights or remedies, either at law or in equity, all of which are hereby expressly reserved.
